Ask anyone, from long-time Boulderites to recent area visitors, "What makes this place "quintessential Boulder"?" You'll hear a wide range of passionate responses that illustrate how complex and eclectic Boulder really is. Here are some characteristics that you'll hear repeated many times, plus some of the many ways that the Boulder Outlook Hotel reflects that Boulder outlook to both out-of-town travelers and local guests.
Celebrating the healthy active outdoor lifestyle
Whether it's the blue sunny skies or breathtaking scenery or a commitment to staying fit, Boulder residents and visitors are drawn outdoors at all times of year. People of every age and ability just want to get out there - hiking, running, biking, climbing, skiing, snowshoeing - the list is endless. Whether you are a professional athlete, an extreme sports enthusiast or a total beginner looking for a taste of the outdoors, the Boulder Outlook Hotel can be your guide. From providing tips on best trails and scenic views to arranging personally guided outdoor adventures, our knowledgeable staff can help you find the outdoor experience that fits you best.
And the Boulder Outlook Hotel is designed to bring the outdoors in. From our indoor bouldering rocks (11' and 4') for climbing experiences for all ages to our heated pool and hot tub to soothe your muscles after a days' outing, the Boulder Outlook Hotel makes a great "base camp" to launch your outdoors experience.
Caring involvement in the community
Boulderites are widely respected for their commitment to non-profits and charitable giving. The Boulder Outlook Hotel provides English classes for our non-English speaking staff so they can grow with our organization. As members of the Community Foundation's Community Partners, both the hotel and our national hotel management company donate 2% of profits to non-profits and charities.
Connected to the University and education
The presence of the University of Colorado, government research facilities (NCAR, NOAA, NIST), and Boulder area & global science and technology firms (Ball Aerospace, Kapp Technologies, Keymark, Corrlogic, Hydrosphere, IBM), as well as many entrepreneurial ventures, help make Boulder a nurturing ground for new ideas, discoveries, business directions and perspectives. The Boulder Outlook Hotel provides lodging and meeting services to these and many other organizations. We also provide jobs and internships for CU students. In conjunction with Tourism Courses in the School of Business, the staff of the Boulder Outlook Hotel teaches a hands-on course in hotel operations and finance.
Celebrating vibrant performing arts, fine arts and cultural activities
Boulder is home to world-class arts, artists and more cultural opportunities than anyone can see in a visit (you'll have to come back!) The Boulder Outlook Hotel will be your connection to all the rich opportunities that this vibrant city offers.
Embracing the Boulder Spirit
Finding a balance between work and leisure life; Enjoying friends, family, children, and pets; Valuing diversity amongst people - these goals may be cited as important by Boulderites and visitors alike.
